Prof. Salim Daccache, SJ

Rector of Saint Joseph University of Beirut

Father Salim Daccache, S.J., born in Bouar, Lebanon, in 1950, joined the Society of Jesus in 1975 and was ordained in 1983. A professor of Islamic philosophy and Syriac at USJ, he has been Rector of Saint Joseph University of Beirut since 2012, overseeing significant growth. He led USJ through the Lebanese crises, ensuring no student dropped out for financial reasons. Recognized internationally, he has received several prestigious awards, including the French National Order of the Legion of Honor. He remains dedicated to excellence in education, interfaith dialogue, and institutional resilience.
